Legends of the Guild was made by Pure Imagination Studios, who previously developed the short film LEGO Jurassic World: Indominus Escape for The LEGO Group and Universal Studios. The film follows a young hunter named Aiden who teams up with a band of more experienced hunters to save his village from a menacing dragon. Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is a feature film, but not by much since its runtime stands at a modest fifty-eight minutes. The Monster Hunter franchise has been very successful as of late, with multiple lucrative video game titles both released and on the horizon. Now, another video game franchise will be presenting a CG-animated film to fans, as Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild will begin streaming on Netflix this August.

Current CG films based on video game franchises include the likes of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Dragon Quest: Your Story.
